The Rocks walk: a 5 km loop that starts and ends at the terminal, with 22 stories on the way — Observatory Hill, the Argyle Cut, the Garrison Church, Dawes Point under the Harbour Bridge, Susannah Place, Customs House. About two hours at an easy pace.
Then the light rail: from Circular Quay the tram runs up George Street, and the Sydney Light Rail guide tells it stop by stop. Tap on with a contactless card.
Docked at White Bay? Circular Quay is a short taxi ride away.

Tram 109 to the centre: it leaves right by Station Pier and runs along Collins Street into the city in about 20 minutes. Station Pier is outside the free tram zone: tap on with a contactless Visa or Mastercard, or your phone (not Amex).
Then on foot: the city walk takes in 25 places — St Paul’s, Hosier Lane, the Royal and Block arcades, the Town Hall, Parliament, Flinders Street Station and Southbank.
Or ride the free City Circle tram 35 around the centre: the guide tells each place as the tram passes. Hop off wherever you like.
